When you visit Polymarket.com pages with our Extension active, we automatically collect:
- Page URLs: The full URL of Polymarket pages you visit
- Market Slugs: Unique identifiers extracted from Polymarket event URLs (e.g., "biden-win-2024")
- Timestamps: The date and time when data is collected
- Tab Information: Limited tab data necessary for Extension functionality
Collection Method: This data is collected automatically when you navigate to Polymarket pages.
2. Usage Preferences
We store your preferences locally in your browser:
- Theme Preference: Your dark mode/light mode preference
- Extension Settings: Any customizations you make to the Extension
Collection Method: This data is collected only when you actively change settings in the Extension.
3. Analysis Data
We cache analysis results from our AI analysis service:
- Market Analysis Results: Predictions, confidence scores, insights, and reasoning from AI models
- Analysis Timestamps: When analyses were performed
- Job Status: Status tracking for ongoing analyses
Collection Method: This data is generated and stored locally when you request market analyses.
4. Automatically Collected Information
The Extension may collect standard browser information:

How We Use Your Information
1. Core Functionality
- Market Analysis: To request and display AI-powered market analysis based on Polymarket pages you visit
- Data Caching: To cache analysis results locally (for up to 1 hour) to improve performance and reduce API calls
- User Experience: To maintain your preferences (dark mode, etc.) across Extension sessions
2. API Communication
- Analysis Requests: We send market slugs and URLs to our secure analysis API to generate market predictions using AI models
- Status Polling: We periodically check analysis status to provide real-time updates
3. Service Improvement
- Functionality: To maintain and improve Extension features
- Error Handling: To identify and resolve technical issues
Data Storage
Local Storage
All data collected by the Extension is stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage API. This includes:
- Scraped market data
- Analysis results (cached for 1 hour)
- Your preferences and settings
- Extension state information
Storage Location: Your browser's local storage (Chrome Extension storage API)
Data Retention:
- Analysis cache: 1 hour (automatically expires)
- Preferences: Stored until you uninstall the Extension or clear Extension data
- Scraped data: Stored until overwritten by new data or Extension uninstall
Our Analysis Service
When you request an analysis, we transmit the following to our secure analysis service:
- Market Slug: The identifier for the specific Polymarket market
- Market URL: The full URL of the Polymarket page
Data Processing: Our analysis service uses AI models to analyze Polymarket data and generate predictions. Standard HTTP request metadata (IP addresses, user agent strings, timestamps) may be logged for service operation and security purposes.
Data Security: All communications with our analysis service use encrypted HTTPS connections.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Share your browsing history with advertisers
- Use tracking cookies or analytics services
- Collect personally identifiable information (names, emails, addresses)
- Share your data with third-party advertisers or marketers
We DO:
- Transmit market slugs and URLs to our analysis service for processing
- Store data locally on your device
- Use your data solely to provide the Extension's functionality
Your Rights and Choices
Access and Control
You have the following rights:
- Access Your Data: View locally stored data through Chrome's extension storage tools
- Delete Your Data:
- Clear cached analysis data by holding SHIFT while clicking the refresh button
- Delete all Extension data by uninstalling the Extension
- Manually clear data through Chrome's extension storage API
- Opt Out: Stop using the Extension at any time
- Preference Control: Change your theme preference through the Extension UI
Data Deletion
To delete all Extension data:
- Uninstall the Extension from Chrome, or
- Navigate to chrome://extensions/
- Find PolyPort Extension
- Click "Details"
- Click "Clear storage" or remove the Extension
Note: Uninstalling the Extension will permanently delete all locally stored data, including preferences and cached analyses.
Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data:
- Local Storage Only: Data is stored on your device, not on external servers (except when processing analyses)
- HTTPS Communication: All API communications use encrypted HTTPS connections
- No Network Tracking: We do not use tracking pixels, analytics, or other tracking mechanisms
- Limited Data Collection: We only collect data necessary for Extension functionality
- Secure API: All data transmitted to our analysis service uses encrypted connections
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately, and we will delete such information.
International Users
If you are using our Services from outside the United States, please note that:
- Your data is stored locally on your device
- Analysis requests may be processed by our servers located in various locations
